Growing up in a world filled with song and melody, Zoey’s love for music started at a very young age. Her music is inspired by the artists her parents had playing through the speakers when Zoey was growing up, ranging from Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles, to Angus and Julia Stone and Kasey Chambers.
Zoey's “uplifting and free spirit personality” was developed whilst travelling around Australia for the first few years of her life in a caravan with her parents.
Eagerly wanting to share her passion for music with the world, Zoey, along with her supportive parents and treasured guitar, travelled the small country music festival and talent quest circuit from the ripe age of 14. After performing in front of crowds and gaining her confidence she then began to start playing gigs around her hometown of Mackay.
Her love for song writing began when she was chosen to participate in the ‘Songmakers’ Program at her school where was mentored by Grant Windsor (producer) and Katie Noonan (Lead singer of George).
Zoey flourished when she began writing for herself and once she discovered the magic of writing her own music she began to really take a leap into the song writing world.
She attended both the Junior (2016) and Senior (2017) Academy of Country Music in Tamworth and the DAG Sheep Station Song writing Retreat (2017) where she was lucky enough to write with some renowned country music artists such as Amber Lawrence, Kevin Bennet, Jeremy Edwards, Alan Caswell and Lyn Bowtell.
Zoey is a blast of fresh air that is quickly making her presence known in the country music scene.
With her unique and captivating voice she has gained a loyal and supportive audience that she is excited to share her up and coming debut EP with, which will be released this year. Produced by one of Australia’s biggest names in Country music Catherine Britt, with its catchy tunes, sing along melodies a sprinkle of expressive story telling lyrics, it will certainly be a record to keep your close eye on. Zoey will tour the EP around Australia so keep your eyes and ears peeled.
